Candidate Biography

From candidate Website

I am very passionate about our community. I have very deep roots here. My mother was born and raised in Grantsburg. My father grew up in the Balsam Lake area. After they were married they came back to live in Polk County, where my sister and I grew up on the shores of Bone Lake.
My wife, Julie Molepske and I saw an opportunity to move back to the place I loved. I can't think of a better place to raise our three adopted children. The qualities that I love most about our district are the clean lakes, clean air, friendly communities. I earned a Master's Degree from St. Mary's University, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for my undergraduate studies. As a high school band teacher in the Unity School District, I work daily to create successful, creative, inspired students.
In the past two years, the very qualities that make this area a desirable place to live have been under attack by politicians in Madison. Too many of the decisions made in Madison do not align with the values of the people in our communities. The environment is under attack, communities are more divided, and our schools are losing funding at an alarming rate. I believe we can do better, and that is why I have decided to run for state assembly.
We have a lot to be proud of in northwestern Wisconsin. The people are hard working, dependable and willing to help their fellow neighbor. Together we can get the job done and create wonderful communities that our children will be proud of.
