Aaron is a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, the son of dairy farmers who is the third-generation resident of his home in Lisbon.
Aaron graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with majors in finance and economics, and while working full time, earned a master’s degree in accounting from UW-Whitewater. Aaron is also a CMA (certified management accountant) in good standing.
Aaron embarked on a 25-year career managing finance departments for legacy Wisconsin companies such as Bucyrus-Erie and Parker Pen During his tenures these companies emerged from bankruptcies to become highly successful public entities that were then purchased by Caterpillar and Gillette respectively. He also served as cost manager and controller for Jones Dairy Farm of Fort Atkinson for 10 years.
At these companies, he prospered in management positions as cost manager, controller, planning and analysis and mergers and acquisitions.
Aaron, later, taught for eight years as a senior lecturer in these subjects at a highly ranked university in northeast China, where he earned top ratings in teacher performance evaluations.
Aaron was a founding member of "The Volunteers of Lake Country," which was named "Volunteer Group of The Year" by United Way of Waukesha County. This group provided freshly grown produce for food pantries and household furnishings for the disadvantaged and single mothers in need.
Under the sponsorship of The Quakers, Aaron was the academic coordinator of five Economics lectures series regarding Capitalism held for academic delegates from The Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea.
Aaron was a United Way, Big Brother.
Aaron guided students in career and academic pursuits including admissions to UW-Madison, Cambridge and The London School of Economics and was ranked first among his colleagues in performance evaluations.
Aaron is the grandson of three-term, Pewaukee Town Chairman Charles R. Matteson .
As a part of the farming community, Aaron learned to shoot and hunt at age ten and supports The Second Amendment.
