David ("DC") Crowley is a lifelong Democrat running for state representative in Milwaukee to improve job and education prospects and promote meaningful change within the 17th Assembly District and the city as a whole.
David was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a proud graduate of Milwaukee Public Schools. He studied educational policy and community studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Committed to strengthening Milwaukee, David has long advocated for its residents and neighborhoods. Since graduating from high school, David has participated in organizations such as Urban Underground, Public Allies, and the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin, of which he is now the board chair. He has organized communities around citizen engagement, police accountability, mass incarceration, and other issues.
In 2010, David got his political start when he was hired as the African-American Statewide Organizer for former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold. He has since worked on many local and state campaigns including the 2011 recall campaigns. He served as an aide for the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and currently serves as policy director for Wisconsin state Sen. Nikiya Harris Dodd.
