Jessie was born in El Salvador and moved to the US with her family in 1984 in the midst of a civil war. Coming to America provided many opportunities for Jessie and her family. Hard work and a dedication to education was the key to capitalizing on those opportunities.
Excelling in school, Jessie graduated from Hamilton High after three years and enrolled into Marquette University on an academic scholarship. She received a B.A. from Marquette in Communications Studies, which she now puts to use as an outreach coordinator for Hispanics for School Choice, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income parents find schools for their children.
Her work on behalf of Hispanics for School Choice has helped create opportunities for not only her 3-year-old son, Noah, but also thousands of Wisconsin families on the issue of education and parental choice. Jessie and her husband, Aaron, an area firefighter, are residents of Franklin.
