Mike Rohrkaste grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Chaminade-Julienne Catholic High School, where he balanced academics, athletics and working through all four years. As a first-generation college student at Michigan State University, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social science in 1980 and a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations in 1982.
Mike started his business career in human resources with Milwaukee’s Miller Brewing Co. He and his family settled in Neenah in 1994 when he joined Menasha Corp. and spent the next decade working his way up through various human resources leadership roles. In 2014, he retired as the chief human resources officer for Oshkosh Corp., one of the Fox Valley’s largest employers.
With his wife of 28 years, Debbie, Mike has two sons: Erik, age 20, and Jakob, age 15.
An active member of the Fox Valley community, Mike currently serves on the boards of the Fox Cities YMCA and the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Fox Valley. He has also volunteered his professional knowledge to the ARC of Neenah-Menasha, assisted various ministry programs at Calvary Bible Church and served on the school board of Fox Valley Christian Academy. He is an avid cyclist, hunter and scuba diver.
