I made the decision to run because, as a single mother of five children, I have worked multiple jobs to put food on the table, I wake up worrying about my children being left behind by our public schools, and have struggled navigating our faulty healthcare system.
I am not a career politician. In fact, when I sat my kids down to tell them that I would be running, my son said “Mom, I didn’t realize you were that old”.
I was born in Kewaunee and raised all over Wisconsin up to about 7th grade. I came back to Manitowoc in ‘99 to work for the Mirro Company on the factory floor. And we all know how that turned out.
In putting People before Politics, my priorities in the State Legislature will be minimum wage reform, increased funding for our public schools, make it easier for people to receive primary and emergency mental health services, and increasing access to quality healthcare. I want for Wisconsin families what I want for mine: prosperity.
